Color me shocked.
Flabbergasted.
Floored. Y’all get the point.
That was what I, and MANY OTHERS, felt when LeBron James chose to take his talents from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Philadelphia 76ers.
Not the Cleveland Cavaliers. Not the Miami Heat. Not the two teams that a lot of folks would bet their meager bank accounts on.
The freaking 76ers.
I will say that the Sixers are one of the best in the league, definitely the favorite in the Eastern Conference. I mean how could one besmirch a starting lineup consisting of Jaylen Brown, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe — and LEBRON JAMES?!
Now I will say this: it’s going to take a little bit of time for this to come together.
Who is going to take on certain roles? Who will sacrifice a little of his game and take a back seat? Will this fall apart before it gets started?
No matter how this ends after two years, one thing is for sure: LeBron didn’t go to Philly for the money. His contract proved that.
It was all about having a legit chance to win a ring.
