Week 0 of the 2026 college football season starts tomorrow! YAAAAAY!!!!!!
Before I spend the next two weeks holed up in sports bars drinking copious amounts of beer and consuming even more wings, here is how I see this season shaping out — from the “Power 4” to the Group of 6.
ACC
Champ: Miami
College Football Playoff Squads: Miami, Louisville
Dark horses: Cal, Pitt and Clemson
Comments: if Clemson does the impossible and wins at LSU, they will be the team to challenge Miami.
Big 12
Champ: Texas Tech
College Football Playoff Squad: Texas Tech
Dark horses: BYU, Houston
Comments: Texas Tech is rich — the others are not.
Big 10, aka “Conference Moneybags”
Champ: Oregon
College Football Playoff Squads: Oregon, Ohio State, Indiana, Michigan
Dark horses: USC
Comments: nice to see Michigan have a functioning adult leading the program instead of that previous clown show.
SEC, aka “The BEAST”
Champ: Texas
College Football Playoff Squads: Texas, Georgia, Alabama
Dark horses: Ole Miss, LSU
Comments: I have a feeling Lane Kiffin is gonna let down some folks in Baton Rouge.
Group of 6
The “New” Pac-12 Champ: Boise State
MAC, aka #MacTion Champ: Ohio
American: Army (LFG!!!)
Conference USA: Jacksonville St
Sun Belt: James Madison
