I’m not going to kill Lou Williams to the same extent as others in the media have been.
Yes, Sweet Lou was wrong for going to a strip club during his excused absence (he attended a close friend’s father’s funeral outside of Atlanta). Yes, I know that he didn’t go to Magic City ONLY for the wings (which folks say are straight FIRE). And yes, he put not only his team but the rest of the teams in the bubble at risk of getting infected.
Now in light of all this, I have one question to ask: can you blame him?
The NBA, in an attempt to restart and finish the 2019-2020 season, is asking all of its players, coaches and front office folks to remain confined in a “bubble” at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL — in a state that is one of the COVID-19 hot-spots, by the way. So that means players gotta be around each other 24-7 for the next month and a half.
Let’s just be real about something: do y’all REALLY think most of these young men aren’t currently scheming to get some good grub and women inside this “bubble”?
Y’all have seen what type of food these players have to eat? Good Lord! Don’t believe me, check this out:
By the way, if you want to see more airplane-ish crap the players have to eat, feel free to click here.
And as far as the women go, BRUH.
On FS1’s Speak for Yourself, Marcellus Wiley and Emmanuel Acho talked about “camp eyes”, which means that when you’re in one place with a lot of people for a long period of time, and you begin to find people attractive that you haven’t before. These NBA cats, who let’s be real are used to having a fair share of Grade A ass thrown their way on the damn-near regular, are like itching for that ever so precious scratch.
Imagine after a few days in the bubble, players will be seeing the likes of Rachel Nichols and Lisa Salters (who are not bad looking) and be like ‘DAYUM, I gotta hit that’. Ladies who would normally been seen as 1s would be seen as 10s after a while. So you know that Williams, ever the stripper connoisseur, would be pining for hoes after a short time in the bubble. Again, a lot of NBA ballers see coochie as often as a homeowner sees his/her own lawn.
As I said earlier, I know what Williams did was wrong. He deserves his punishment. So I’m not condoning it — but I understand…
