The coronavirus COVID-19 has really wrecked some terror on the sports world.
The NBA announced that it’s suspending the regular season last night, largely due to a player testing positive for the disease. Major college conferences (the ACC, SEC, Big 10 and 12, Pac 12, Big East, SEC) cancelled their conference tournaments today, with other conferences following suit. The NHL and MLS also announced that their regular seasons have been suspended.
Major League Baseball has suspended operations (re: spring training), and may delay the regular season. Here in Cincinnati, the team announced that the Opening Day parade will be cancelled.
And after initially closing it to the general public, the NCAA announced that the men’s and women basketball tournaments will be cancelled. That mean no March Madness (gasp!).
