Sure, I was one of the happy campers who saw the Alabama Crimson Tide hey their asses molly-whopped by the Clemson Tigers last night (go ACC!!!).
I was happy to see coach Nick Satan get humbled. I was happy to see all those SEC honks on ESPN (Paul Finebaum, David Pollack, Booger McFarland, and MANY others) shocked.
(I also know a college pal who is a HUGE Bama fan who can be rather arrogant from time to time who was also shocked beyond belief)
However, I think it’s time to kill the noise of Alabama’s pending demise.
First of all, last I checked the Tide finished the season 14 AND ONE. Seeing how Bama rolled through he regular season, I don’t think it is gonna fall of anytime soon.
Who would put ahead of Alabama in the SEC West? Auburn? Texas A&M? LSU?
Anyone think the SEC East winner outside of Georgia could challenge Bama? I don’t see Florida and Tennessee breaking down that door anytime soon.
Plus, Saban is still the coach — and he is STILL killing it on the recruiting trail (google it). Is there a coach outside of Clemson’s Dani Swinney who could head to head with Saban?
I didn’t think so.
The Crimson Tide will be just fine, and Saban is gonna keep that machine humming along until he decides to hang ’em up.
Y’all need to stop trippin…
