2017 NBA Finals Preview

NBA-Finals-LogoWell, well, well.  It’s about damn time.

The best way to cap off what was one crappy-ass NBA playoffs is to have what should be an epic Finals.

Cleveland vs. Golden State: the Trilogy.

Ah, yes.  Something to actually look forward to in what has been a rather moribund playoffs.

After all, there was a reason why I refused to do previews for the previous rounds of these playoffs.  We all knew who was going to end up in these Finals, and none of us gave two damns about those other series.

Toronto vs. Milwaukee?  Atlanta vs. Washington?  San Antonio vs. Memphis?  ANY series with Utah???

Outside of Boston vs. Washington (only because both hate each other and it had seven games written all over it), the other series were not competitive and God-awful boring.

Now back to the series we have all been waiting for.

The Warriors have been chomping at the bit to get back at the Cavs.  How much, you ask?  Here’s Draymond Green’s quote:

“I want to annihilate them.”

Does that work for y’all?

While Golden State has revenge, along with the free-agent acquisition of the second-best player in the world (Kevin Durant), on its side, Cleveland has been brimming with crazy confidence.

LeBron James has played and acted loose this postseason.  His teammates also know what it takes to be a champion, thanks to rallying from a 3-1 series deficit and winning Game 7 ON THE ROAD.

I think (and hope) this series goes seven games again.  Durant has yet to deliver when it matters the most (see last season’s choke vs. the Warriors and his only Finals appearance in 2012).  Until Durant proves otherwise, expect LeBron to win back-to-back titles again…
