Stephen A. STILL Doesn’t Get it…

Before I launch into this diatribe, let me first state the following: I am a fan of Stephen A. Smith.

I think he has done a lot of good in using his platforms — whether it’s his highly successful morning show “First Take” on ESPN, his afternoon show on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Radio, or his YouTube podcast — in promoting and uplifting HBCUs, promoting black journalists, and getting some of those same journalists to appear on ESPN. In fact, he’s taken “First Take” on the road to the NABJ conference a couple of years ago.

Speaking of NABJ…

The National Association of Black Journalists recently gave Stephen A. the dreaded “thumbs down” award, citing a recurring public pattern of disparaging commentary directed at prominent Black women such as Jasmine Crockett and former ESPN-er Cari Champion. NABJ stated that Smith’s comments about Black women in politics, sports, and media hurt fair representation.

Look, I do not have a problem with many of his critiques on those ladies. They were his opinions, and you know what we say about opinions: they are like assholes — EVERYONE has them.

My problems with him are with the following:

For one, Stephen A. didn’t have that same energy for Michelle Beadle, who once said she prayed for his demise! Our president called him dumb and “low IQ”. Even former MLBer Curt Shilling said that he didn’t respect Stephen A.

And yet, crickets…

Also, who did Stephen A. run to when he wanted to vent about what the NABJ did? Sean Hannity from Fox News(!!!).

You mean to tell me Stephen A. couldn’t go on “The Odd Couple” to holla at his boy Rob Parker?

And finally, during the clapback video that Stephen A. recently posted to YouTube, the brothas he shouted out for having his back were Boyce Watkins, “Officer” Tatum, and Anton Daniels — who are red pill YouTubers. Seriously???
