A VERY Quick NCAA Men’s Tournament Preview

Yeah, yeah I know.

I haven’t written any rants in a while — a LONG while.

I’ve been mostly vlogging on my YouTube page where you can find here (and please like, comment, share and SUBSCRIBE). While I’ve enjoyed posting videos and such (it’s actually quite addictive), I do miss posting rants to this blog and I promise to do better.

So what better way to get back into the swing of things than to preview this year’s men’s NCAA tournament?

As always, the preview will be short and concise — I’m not getting paid for this. I’m sure some of y’all may have some beef with this, so feel free to post your hate in the comments below.

So without further ado…

East Region

Top Four Seeds:

  1. Purdue
  2. Marquette
  3. Kansas State
  4. Tennessee

Dark Horses: Duke, Memphis

Thoughts: I’m not too impressed with Purdue. I don’t know why the Big Ten landed the most squads in the NCAA tourney, but that’s neither here nor there. I’m more impressed with Marquette and Duke more than Purdue. If Purdue gets past Memphis in round 2, I’d be shocked.

South Region

Top Four Seeds:

  1. Alabama
  2. Arizona
  3. Baylor
  4. Virginia

Dark Horse: Charleston

Thoughts: It’s crazy to see Alabama BASKETBALL as the top overall seed in the tournament. No matter how much I think head coach Nate Oats is a scoundrel, that fool can coach. I don’t know if I see any squad in the Crimson Tide’s region slowing them down.

Midwest Region

Top Four Seeds:

  1. Houston
  2. Texas
  3. Xavier
  4. Indiana

Dark Horse: Miami

Thoughts: The health of star guard and leading scorer Marcus Sasser may cause doubt to creep into your mind about the Cougars’ chances, but should he return at full strength, Houston should be regarded as the frontrunner until further notice. Plus I am a BIG fan of head coach Kelvin Sampson, so there’s that.

West Region

Top Four Seeds:

  1. Kansas
  2. UCLA
  3. Gonzaga
  4. UConn

Dark Horses: Gonzaga

Thoughts: Somehow despite getting that ass boat-raced in the Big 12 title game in what was considered a home game, Kansas landed a number one seed. Shocking. Those weak-ass national champions won’t even get past the Sweet 16. Meanwhile, it’s crazy to me that Gonzaga is a THREE-SEED. They’re gonna low-key make some noise in this region.
