I don’t know about you, but I am super pumped about these play-in games tonight and tomorrow.
(Before you read further, in case you have no fucking idea on how the Play-In tournament works, click HERE.)
Tonight we have the Eastern Conference: #10 Charlotte Hornets at #9 Indiana Pacers, #8 Washington Bullets at #7 Boston Celtics. Tomorrow night are the Western Conference matchups: #10 San Antonio Spurs at #9 Memphis Grizzlies, #8 Golden State Warriors at #7 Los Angeles Lakers.
Yes, I know the Pacers beat the dog piss out of the Hornets earlier tonight; the Spurs-Grizzlies have the potential of being an all-time snoozer. And I’m aware that most 9 vs 10 play-ins will more than likely be boring games between mediocre squads.
Look at both 7 vs 8 matchups, tho.
The Bullets and Celtics could scare the top two seeds in the East. I am praying for a Washington vs. Brooklyn Nets matchup, only for a Russell Westbrook-Kevin Durant storyline.
And you know that the Warriors-Lakers game is going to be entertaining. The defending champion Lakers in the PLAY-IN GAME? Stephen Curry vs. LeBron James. YO!!!!
I’m aware that there are some fans who do not want to see the 9th and 10th best teams in each conference have a shot at playing their way into the playoffs. But you know what — if you underachieve, you deserve to take the hardest road.
Plus, I think it’s exciting and cool as hell. Deal with it…
