2011 NFL Week 6 Preview

This is an extremely early edition of the NFL weekly preview.  I have to be in Cincinnati, OH for my sister-in-law’s wedding this weekend, and have to be out of town earlier than usual.  Since my laptop dies a slow death (Dells suck), I have to crank this out before I leave work (talk about productive, right?).

So without further ado…

Game of the Week

San Francisco 49ers at Detroit Lions.  If someone told you before the year started that this game will feature the best in the NFC, that person was either lying or high.  Both teams are physical, and look to impose their wills on anyone.  This game should be a low-scoring slug-fest.  I think the Lions have the advantage playing at home… Lions 17, 49ers 13.

Ass-Whupping of the Week

Steelers over Jaguars.  A week ago I wrote that my Steelers were done for the year after that beatdown by Houston.  The Steelers obviously read that (chuckle) and came out pissed against the Titans.  I don’t think the Steelers are done on the beatdown tour.  The Jags have a rookie at QB who has never seen a defense like the 3-4 my Steelers run.  Outside of Maurice Jones-Drew, the Jags have no weapons that will challenge the Steelers’ D.  It’ll be a long day for the Jags… Steelers 27, Jaguars 10.

Sunday’s Games

Falcons over Panthers
Bengals over Colts
Packers over Rams
Bills over Giants
Redskins over Eagles (the “Dream Team”s season is over)
Raiders over Browns
Ravens over Texans
Patriots over Cowboys
Saints over Buccaneers
Bears over Vikings

Monday’s Game

Jets over Dolphins (look for coach Tony Sparano to be canned after the game)

  1. Nice to see you’ve caught some of the Bills excitement, Klown.

Cinci is a great town. I ran a marathon there in May, did well, and now love the place. If you have time, there is a chain there called Izzy’s, which specialised in the Reuben – and they do a damn good job at it… Molly Malone’s, across the river in Covington, is a good place to watch sports, and the have good beers.

Hope your Steelers don’t suck this weekend.

    • Hey man, I lived in Cincinnati for four years (met my wife there). Izzy’s is a great spot, and I love the hell out of some Reubens. There are lots of sports bars across the river (on both sides) where you can catch a game or several.

By the way, I hope my Steelers do not suck too lol…
