My Steelers Are ALMOST Back

Whelp, it was mighty nice of my Pittsburgh Steelers to show up and play like they give a damn – even it was for a half.

And boy, what a half it was. Ben Roethlisberger completed 20 of 29 passes for 244 yards and three touchdowns. The defense gave up only three points, and constantly harassed Colts’ QB Philip Rivers, nabbing an interception and sacking him several times over.

So I should be happy, footloose and fancy-free right? I mean, after seemingly the first good game the Steelers have had in December, Steeler Nation should think its team is in the clear, right?

WRONG.

Pittsburgh STILL can’t run the football. The Steelers only average 3.7 yards per carry — good for dead fucking last. The team also gained a whopping 20 yards (!) rushing vs. Indianapolis.

While the receivers did a better job of holding onto passes, they are still susceptible to drops. Big Ben needs those talented receivers to hold on to the goddamn ball.

Look, I know I can sometimes be an unreasonable fan when it comes to my beloved Steelers. I just know that they need to be more consistent all the way around if they want to advance in what will be a very difficult AFC playoff bracket.

Oh by the way, good to be AFC North champs again. WOO!!!

  1. That was an encouraging 4th quarter- hopefully they can build on it. I was expecting the Steelers to come out like that on Sunday- but better late than not at all. An exciting win.
