Knicks Would Be Best Fit for Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer.

He will go down as one of the most dynamic players in NBA history. He will be forever be known as the triple-double machine, having done so for three straight years.

However, Westbrook has shown that his style of play does not lead to championships. He didn’t do so with the Oklahoma City Thunder. He also failed last season with the Houston Rockets, and now he wants out.

Plus, it’s highly unlikely he’ll be traded to and fit with a contender. Westbrook’s style would be disruptive to the likes of the Philadelphia 76ers, Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles Clippers, or even the Phoenix Suns — a team that is rumored to have a keen interest in Westbrook.

So it’s more than likely that if Westbrook does get his wish and is traded, it would likely be to a bad team that would take the fans’ focus on how bad it is.

Enter my beloved New York Knicks.

They are terrible, in desperate need of a distraction for said terrible play — and more importantly, have the cap space to fit the remaining years on Westbrook’s gi-normous contract. Plus, he wouldn’t necessarily be disruptive to what the Knicks do.

I mean, what player on my Knicks who Westbrook would have to worry about meshing with? Julius Randle? Dennis Smith, Jr? The immortal Frank Ntilikina? REALLY???

Also, wouldn’t it be cool if the Knicks acquire Westbrook just to fuck with what Kevin Durant has going on with the Brooklyn Nets? Could you imagine the storylines leading into that game?

Memo to my Knicks and Westbrook’s agent: make. That. Shit. Happen. NOW…
