I absolutely loved the new format of the 2018 NBA All-Star Game. LOVED it.
I loved having the top two vote-getters for the All-Star game pick their squads, draft style. It had the feel of picking teams before a pick-up game.
As for the game itself, it was great to watch. Seeing the best basketball players getting after it was awesome. Now I know what a professional pick-up game looks like.
Look, I get it that it was STILL a high-scoring affair. However, I loved the fact that both teams took the game seriously. If y’all don’t believe me, re-watch the last couple of minutes of the All-Star game.
My only complaint was that the draft was not televised live, a la the NFL — and NBA — draft. At least NBA commissioner Adam Silver will correct that wrong next season.
Now, if the NBA can ban Fergie’s ass from singing ANYTHING at its sponsored events going forward…
