2013 Week 6 Preview

NFL-LogoGame of the Week

New Orleans Saints at New England Patriots.  The Saints are in back-to-back “Games of the Week”, marking the first time this has happened in the illustrious history of this blog.  I love the Saints.  I love their coach Sean Payton.  I love the swagger the team projects (mostly because of their coach).  I love the fact that New Orleans is on an obvious mission this season.  And what better way to make a statement than to beat down the NFL’s “model team” in the New England Patriots.  Tom Brady, thanks to injuries, do not have any stars to get the ball to (is Danny Amendola healthy?).  And while the Pats’ defense is ok, it has never faced the horror that is the Saints’ offense.  The only reason why this game will be close is because it will be at the Pats’ house.  Saints 27, Patriots 20.

The “Who Gives Two Damns” Game of the Week

Carolina Panthers at Minnesota Vikings.  Two bad teams – talented, but bad.  At least we can see how both coaching staffs are misusing their offensive stars in Keystone Cop-like fashion.  Oh, Vikings over Panthers.

Thursday’s Game

Bears over Giants (The turnover-prone Giants against the opportunistic Bears on the road in prime time?  Good luck with that)

Sunday’s Games

Packers over Ravens
Bengals over Bills
Lions over Browns (still not picking the Browns in ANY game until they are for real)
Texans over Rams (another pick-6 for Matt Schaub?)
Chiefs over Raiders
Jets over Steelers (my Steelers are a hot-ass mess right now)
Eagles over Buccaneers
Broncos over Jaguars (that 28-point spread may be conservative)
Seahawks over Titans
49ers over Cardinals
Cowboys over Redskins

Monday’s Game

Colts over Chargers

Last week’s record: 8-6
Year-to-date: 38-23*
*keep in mind I was on vacation in Mexico during week 2, so my record does not include that week

  1. I agree with most of your picks. However after the Ravens won against the Dolphins on the road, I believe they’ll win at home against the Packers w/o Clay Matthews not in the lineup. I’m also picking the Browns over the Lions at home even with Brandon Weeden back at QB due to the injury Hoyer. I just don’t trust Matt Stafford’s consistency from game to game, Calvin Johnson probably out and if not, Joe Haden will shut him down.
