2011 NFL Week 15 Preview

Game of the Week

New England Patriots at Denver Broncos.  Yes, I have bought into the Tim Tebow hype known as “Tebow-mania” a long time ago.  I do not know what it is about that kid, but dude just wins!  This game intrigues me from the standpoint of seeing Tebow go against Tom Brady.  I mean, common sense says that Brady would Tebow and the Broncos’ asses alive, but who knows?  After all, the Broncos came from behind against the Bears (thank you Marion Barber), after being dominated for 3 1/2 quarters.

By the way, you know that the Tebow haters and other players are pulling for the Patriots to clean Denver’s clock.  While it may not be a blowout, I do think the Pats will win by double-digits.  If Tebow is able to exploit New England’s leaky secondary, then it may be a classic.  I’m just not so sure.  Patriots 27, Broncos 17.

Upset of the Week

Chargers over Ravens.  I could easily see this happening.  The Ravens are a so-so road team at best, losing to the Titans and to the juggernauts known as the Jaguars and Seahawks.  San Diego is a matchup nightmare for Baltimore.  The Chargers can spread the field with Philip Rivers and he will pick the Ravens’ asses alive with those wide receivers and Antonio Gates.  Besides, this is the time of year the Chargers tend to get hot – even though head coach Norv Turner will be fired at season’s end.

Meanwhile, the Ravens struggle against teams that can score at will.  It may be a bit close, though it wouldn’t shock me to see the Chargers win by double-digits.

Ass-Whupping of the Week

Packers over Chiefs.  Does anyone think this game will be close at the end of the 1st quarter?  Not I, saith the Lord…  Packers 40, Chiefs 7.
