Game of the Week
Cincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers. This game is stocked full of playoff implications. A win for my wife’s Bengals will put them in the driver’s seat of the wild-card race. My Steelers need to win to keep pace with the Ravens (who should have no business losing to the Brownies). My Steelers beat the Bengals at Cincinnati a few weeks ago, though the Bengals hung tough. In fact, the Bengals looked tough in their loss at Baltimore the week after.
This should be – and will be – a tough game to call. The Bengals have A.J. Green back, and will be chomping at the bit to get some revenge. It will be tough to do at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. The Steelers D will be healthier with LaMarr Woodley expecting to play. My boys will prevail in a game that should embody what pro football is all about – hard-hitting on a cold, nasty field in December. Steelers 17, Bengals 13.
Ass-Whuppin of the Week
Patriots over Colts. Hmmm, let’s see: a winless team playing on the road against one of the high-powered teams in the league who happens to be its arch-rival. If Patriots coach Bill Bellicheat does not run up the score by the second quarter, I’d be shocked. Given how much he hates the Colts, I’m betting on it. Patriots 49, Colts 10.
Who Gives a Damn Game of the Week
San Diego Chargers at Jacksonville Jaguars. How awesome is it that this is a Monday night game? Everyone and their mamas in America will see two of the crappiest teams in the league in prime time – an underachiever (San Diego) and a sorry-ass team (Jacksonville). How the Jaguars got TWO Monday night games is beyond me. Way to go ESPN, you’ve done it again!

Your 67% prediction average is excellent and a better percentage than many other NFL sports writers that I follow. The only two games I picked different from you are Titans over Bills since Ryan Fitzpatrick hasn’t been throwing as well lately and Dolphins over Oakland. The Raiders had a tough game against the Bears last Sunday and have to travel from the West to East coast. Meanwhile, the resurgent Dolphins have been playing very well the past five weeks and have ten days to prepare for this game.
Aww, thanks! I try to do the best in picking games, just not over-thinking it, you know?
As for your picks, I was wavering a bit on the Titans-Bills game, but I had to give it to the home team…
ESPN doesn’t pick the games, the NFL sets the schedule.
Hey man, don’t let the facts get in the way of a great line :)…
Week 13 was another unpredictable week, however my picks of Miami over Oakland and Tennessee over Buffalo held up. The Patriots held off a run in the fourth quarter by the winless Colts while the Packers undefeated season almost came to an end at the hands of the up and down New York Giants. However, I’m at a loss to explain how the Arizona Cardinals beat the Dallas Cowboys. Also a little surprised by the KC Chiefs win over the Chicago Bears, but at least that’s explanable with Caleb Hanie at QB and Matt Forte suffering a knee injury in the first quarter.
