2011 NFL Week 5 Preview

Games of the Week

Green Bay Packers at Atlanta Falcons.  This is the ultimate revenge game.  The Falcons are chomping at the bit to deliver some measure of payback against the Packers.  The problem is that Atlanta is going about it the wrong way.  The Falcons should not be running smack towards the Pack.  The Pack beat them by over 20 points in the playoffs ON THE ROAD!  As a result, I think the Pack is going to smack that ass again.  God, I love grudge matches!!!  Packers 30, Falcons 17.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at San Francisco 49ers.  This is the “Who Is for Real” Bowl.  Both squads are young and looking good early in the season.  While both teams have ugly-ass wins, they are at least tied for first in their divisions.  I don’t like Tampa Bay’s chances after making a cross-country flight to play a solid team on the road.  This game will be ugly, but it will be won in the trenches.  Look for the 49ers to make enough plays late to get the win (I’m counting on you Alex Smith!)… 49ers 17, Buccaneers 13.

“Who Gives a Damn” Game of the Week

Arizona Cardinals at Minnesota Vikings.  If you’re not a fan of either team, who have a serious gambling addiction… Vikings win, whoopty-doo…

Sunday’s Games

Bills over Eagles (“Dream Team” is in big trouble)
Colts over Chiefs
Giants over Seahawks
Steelers over Titans (now or never fellas.  GO STEELERS [please]!)
Saints over Panthers (should be 1oo points and 1,000 yards gained in this game)
Bengals over Jaguars
Raiders over Texans
Chargers over Broncos (could Tim Tebow play more QB in this game?)
Patriots over Jets

Monday’s Game

Lions over Bears (Motown should be rocking)

  1. I am on the same page with you on the Packers pick. Rodgers has more weapons than he did during the Super Bowl run where he made the Falcons defense look like they weren’t even there, and the Falcons have pretty much the same guys out there. Falcons offense can’t keep pace with the scoring machine that is Green Bay right now.

The Bucs are going to struggle, I agree with you. Coming across the country is hard and the niners have a stout run defense. No 4th quarter comeback this week for Freeman.

I know you’re a Steelers fan, so you had to make that pick, but no James Harrison, giving up nearly 5 yards a carry on the ground, and Chris Johnson seemingly finding his groove? All spells trouble for Pittsburgh.

Here are my picks, great post!

    • Yeah, about that Steelers pick… I already said my Steelers are done, so if they do blow that game to the Titans, then the process of not making the playoffs will start ASAP. I just think it will be too tough for the Titans to win at Pittsburgh, especially without Kenny Britt…
