Colts Got the Steal of the Year in Carson Wentz Trade

I kinda figured that Carson Wentz had the Philadelphia Eagles over a barrel when he announced his desire to be traded. I didn’t think the Eagles would be dicked over like this.

The Eagles finally moved Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts for a 2021 third-round draft pick and a conditional 2022 second-round pick that could turn into a first-rounder (not that the latter matters much).

This was a HUGE win for the Colts.

This reunites Wentz with head coach Frank Reich, who was his offensive coordinator in Philadelphia. The Colts were already in a win-now mode with a roster that is capable of a deep playoff run. They now get their franchise QB with a lot of cap room.

And you know Wentz is doing 50-11 praise dances right now. He has better talent offensively to work with, including an offensive line that is not only one of the best in football — it is flat out nasty.

Speaking of nasty, let’s talk about those Eagles.

Sure, they still have Jalen Hurts who will be presumably the starting QB going forward. But what about that “turrible” offensive line? What about the bereft wide receiving corps? What about that horrific defensive?

And I could talk about a certain general manager named Howie Roseman who I think is running the Eagles’ franchise into the ground, but that’s for another time.

This is about Wentz being saved. This is about the Colts cementing themselves as contenders in the AFC.

Those Colts-Titans battles are gonna be hella fun next season…

  1. Defense wins championships! There will probably be another 10+ football teams in the NFL that win championships before this mess of a football team called the Dallas Cowboys win 1.
