2025 NFL Playoff Preview: AFC/NFC Championships

Conference championship weekend is FINALLY here — and my Steelers are not involved (once AGAIN).

At any rate, we have Bills-Chiefs in the AFC and Commanders-Eagles in the NFC. Both games are rematches from the regular season and should be entertaining to watch.

Since my brand is this thing called ‘brevity’, here is how I see both games shaping out:

Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs

Most of America outside of the Kansas CIty metropolitan area (including your boy) are members of Bills Mafia for the day.

We are sick and tired of seeing QB Patrick Mahomes receiving preferential treatment from the refs. We are sick and tired seeing his annoying-ass wife and Taylor Swift in the expensive suite gyrating for the camera.

Having said all that, this game simply comes down to this: will Bills QB Josh Allen avoid making the big mistake? Will he forgo his “hero complex” and not give the Chiefs additional points? That will be a tall order given this game will be played at Arrowhead Stadium, and that crowd noise is NOT for the faint of heart.

I’m hoping and praying that Allen and the Bills have grown up and beat the Chiefs on the road with a Super Bowl berth at stake — but I don’t see it. Mahomes and the gang will figure out a way to win (unfortunately)… Chiefs 20, Bills 17.

Washington Commanders at Philadelphia Eagles

It is cool seeing fans in the Washington DC area get excited about their team again. Having lived there for three years, I can tell you those are very passionate fans who did not deserve the Daniel “Danny-Boy” Snyder years.

I love seeing rookie QB Jayden Daniels balling out. I love seeing Washington continuing to defy the odds by winning in Detroit last weekend. Simply put, the Commanders are the best thing going in sports right now.

I only have one concern: the Eagles have one thing that the Commanders do not have.

Saquon Barkley.

I think he will be a BIG factor in today’s game, and I think he will come through. The future is bright for Daniels and the Commanders, but not for today… Eagles 27, Commanders 23.
