To all the doom-and-gloom NBA experts, the Miami Heat will figure its way out of this funk and beat the elite teams in the NBA.
It will happen next year.
I think it was asking too much for Miami to win title after title starting this season. Two alpha dogs, well 1 and “a possible” (LeBron James and Chris Bosh), joined Dwyane Wade last summer in South Beach. Whenever there are stars playing with other stars, it takes time for those stars’ games to complement the others’ games. Sometimes it takes a few months, or even a season.
I didn’t think the Heat would win the NBA title this season. I figured they need at least a season to figure out roles – i.e. who is the 1, 1A and 1B; who is the closer with the game on the line, and so on…
Besides, it’s not like they are chopped liver this season. The Heat are the third-best team in the Eastern Conference record-wise, and a sure bet to win over 50 games.
Hell, maybe they won’t bring “not one, not two, not three” titles to South Beach. I think they’ll use this season as a learning tool, and re-tool for next season for a championship run.
Better late than never, right?
