Super Bowl LIII Solidified Belichick’s Greatness

Please excuse me if I’m still in a little bit of denial.

I refuse to believe that abomination of a Super Bowl happened last night. A game where there were 14 punts (14!!!!!!), a combined 16 points in what is the lowest scoring Super Bowl ever – and the highlight of the game was a record-setting 65 yard punt by Johnny “What The” Hekker!

Couple that with the horrific halftime show, I still want my four hours back.

Having said all of that, there was a reason the game was an offensive snooze fest: Bill Belichick.

The New England Patriots’ head coach put on a defensive masterpiece. Holding Sean McVay’s offense to THREE POINTS for the game? Only 260 total yards for the game? I didn’t think any of that was possible before last night.

And while I’ve been critical of Bellicheat in the past (and for good reason), I’ve always lauded his coaching and defensive acumen. I believe that Belichick is the greatest coach in NFL history, and I STILL believe that Tom Brady would not win six Super Bowls without him – definitely not last night’s game.

So what else can I say? Props to Belichick…
