A-Rod Needs to Go – NOW

Poor Alex Rodriguez. Dude can’t seem to get out of his own way.

First came his benching in the ALCS because he had been stinking up the joint against right-handed pitching lately, going 0 for 18 with 12 strikeouts against right-handed pitching in the playoffs.  A-Rod is also 3 for 23 in the postseason.

Now comes a report that A-Rod was getting his mack on during Game 1 of the American League Championship Series in New York.  He had a ball delivered to two female fans in the Yankee Stadium crowd.

Honestly, I do not think that a ballplayer getting his mack on with females during a game is such a big deal.  What A-Rod did was what most athletes have done since the beginning of forever.  Hell if it were me – especially if I made superstar-level money – I’d be the biggest hoe in the ballpark, but I digress…

The reason it’s such a big deal is three-fold: A-Rod is mired in an under-performing slump, his team is getting waxed by the Detroit Tigers, and let’s face it – he’s A-Rod.  And reports of him moping around and making a scene or two in the clubhouse does not help his case.

I think it’s time for the Yankees to move on from A-Rod.  This dude has underachieved since being busted for using steroids before the 2007 season.  He is no longer worth the $275 million extension he signed after the 2007 season (now why did my Yankees make that move again?).

I think the Miami Marlins would be a good landing spot for A-Rod.  Hell Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria is more about the box office numbers instead of putting a winning product on the field, so make that shit happen New York!

A-Rod did a lot of good things for my Yankees.  However, given his drop in performance since signing that huge contract extension (that will end when is 42 years old), his drama is no longer worth the trouble.

Pull the cord DAMMIT!
